DRIVING LESSONS

I teach all levels of students including complete beginners, those who have had lessons previously, those wanting to pass their test quickly via an intensive course, and people from outside the Commonwealth and Europe who have a foreign licence and need to take a UK test. I can also provide a short course on driving on motorways.

Beginners

New to driving - just turned 17, or have left it a little later to begin to learn to drive - no problem.

I offer a friendly, patient way to learn to drive, using nursery routes for those just starting and then moving on to more complex road situations at your own pace.

The key to driving on our roads is to be observant and to be in good control of your vehicle. Students gain these skills via good teaching methods and continued practice - everybody learns at a different pace.

The driving test contains specific tasks for you to complete and throughout your practice time you will gain confidence in the main maneovres; the turn in the road, reversing round a corner, bay parking, reverse parking and performing a controlled stop.

The examiner is looking for you to be a safe and conscientious driver as well as passing the required elements.

Already had lessons?

If you have started driving with friends or family at your side or you have had some lessons previously, then I can still help you with learning some of the more difficult road situations on the test routes and ensure that you can perform all the required manoeuvres to enable you to pass your test.

Intensive courses

I can produce an intensive course tailored to your requirements to get you to test standard as quickly as possible. I would require a minimum of 2 weeks to be able to schedule your time around other students. You would need to be able to have lessons during the working week and possibly some evenings. Contact me for timescales and costs.

Driving on a foreign licence?

If you are planning to stay in the Great Britain, you may be required to take the UK driving test. You may need to spend a few hours with a qualified instructor to show you what is required to pass your test.

I can help you with learning some of the more difficult road situations on the test routes and ensure that you can perform all the required manoeuvres to enable you to pass the UK test.

This could be done in your own car if you prefer.

Driving on motorways

If you do not feel you wish to go for the full 'Pass Plus' course (which could save up to 30% on your motor insurance), you may still feel you need some guidance on how to drive on motorways.
